Title: Senior Visual Designer

DigitasLBi is among the world’s leading digital agencies, and are now building Melbourne’s flagship team. We live and breathe the end-to-end customer journey – people are at the heart of everything we do. Our clients regularly sing our praises, and who can blame them: from working with the largest banks to household names in travel, shopping, food, and leisure, our work is broad and innovative. But we are interested in more than just best-in-class user experience and design; we strive to offer every employee cutting-edge career development with a generous helping of gentle loving care.

INSERT <YOU>

You’re currently a  mid-weight or senior visual designer with some solid teeth-cutting experience and a host of projects under your belt.  You may go by many titles – interaction designer, digital designer, UX designer, creative ninja – but first and foremost your approach and point of view is user-centered. Your craft skills are razor sharp; you can understand project needs with ease akin to swiping right or left in your favourite app; you’re keen to learn and add value to everything you touch; becoming a trailblazer and thought leader within our creative department is your obsession. And most importantly, you are absolutely passionate about creating digital experience and services that are as useful as desirable and improve peoples’ real lives.

Sound familiar?  Then we want you!  We are looking for a senior visual designer to lead our Melbourne team. You will be responsible for contributing to the success of major accounts for world-class clients. You will have demonstrable experience delivering digital solutions with impact. You will be dedicated, hardworking, and able to drive effective design, while offering creative and original ideas and solutions. This is a great opportunity to help develop strategic customer experience solutions for clients while helping to build and shape one of the best user experience departments in the industry.

  • You will be obsessed with honing your tried and tested arsenal of UX tools and techniques with designers hungry to share their wisdom.
  • You have solid design principles such as colour, typography, and photographic selection, UI elements, animation and micro-interactions. You know how to create engaging interactive cross channel experiences, spanning a variety of platforms and devices such as web, mobile and physical interfaces, applications and interactive media platforms.
  • You know how to deliver a range of web experiences (banners, microsites, emails) with speed and agility, but are equally capable of ideating and working across guerrilla testing, contextual user, and brand and design research.
  • You can present design solutions based on existing brand guidelines, and critically assess work for desirability, accessibility, usability and appropriateness for the brand
  • You will have at least 6-8 years’ experience in visual design from a creative agency, or client focused business. You have prior work on digital design projects such as responsive design, platforms or mobile apps
  • You display an understanding of; design theory and principles; the technical possibilities and limitations which will direct and have implications to your designs; and user behaviour and UX.
  • You will be comfortable contributing as part of a small (for now) crew of technologists, user experience designers, strategists, and producers to ensure that briefs are successfully completed and expectations are exceeded, priding yourself on delivering quality work.
  • And most importantly, you will thrive in the kind of entrepreneurial environment that values collaboration, applauds bravery, and awards craftsmanship.
